Jolly outboard # 448 from 1967 with the original Mercury Kiekhaefer 50HP from 1966
Named;
Bought the boat in 2003 in a minor state, the wood needed to be sanded and varnish and there was a wooden plate on the front with a hole underneeth. The seats needed upholstery and the trailer needed some work otherwise I couldnt take it with me on the road.
After two years that I took her with me to the Lago di Garda I decided to restore the deck and to put epoxy over the underwaterside and put pantserlack over it. 80% of the chrome is been rechromed and the seats had an upholstery.
What makes this boat other than a lot of Arcangeli's is the fact that this boat is complete with the original Arcangeli steeringwheel and the original engine and throttle!!
In 2008 I took her for the first time after the restoration with me to the Lago di Garda again and this year (2009) I took her with me to the Lago Maggiore near Milano.
In 2009 I had to replace some parts of the engine like the magnetoshaft and the breakerpoints, I got the parts from Thom "frankenmerc" from the USA and my friend Frank did help me with rebuilding and adjusting the engine which runs now like it is a new one. My special thanks goes out to Thom and Frank for helping me!!
During the the years of painting, recovering and maintenance I discovered that in the bottom there was a small piece of wood placed right over the middle keelson in shutter under the frontbench, this piece of wood had #441 on it and when I removed this piece of wood the #448 stood right under in the keelson itself. Proberly this boat is two boats together as one because some chrome parts have #441 in it but the skeleton has #448.
